RED THREADERS DRAMATURGY

dramaturgy

/ˈdraməˌtəːdʒi/
noun    the theory and practice of dramatic composition.

Red Threaders Dramaturgy is a theatre based artistic advisory service for arts practitioners, schools, community groups, cross-disciplinary artistic projects and those who create and devise performance work.

Red Threaders are Maryjane Stevens and Gemma Williams who studied MA Dramaturgy at the University of Kent in 2009. For us Dramaturgy is the craft of making performances and arts projects intelligent and cohesive, weaving and threading elements together.

We design and implement bespoke services for artists, working with them in rehearsals, providing an “outside eye”, supporting them to gain perspective of their own creative process and performances.

We also tailor educational workshops to suit schools and community groups using our academic and creative skills as dramaturgs’ to stimulate playful and dynamic activity around the chosen subject.

We specialise in devising theatre, drama and mental health and applied drama for autistic children.
